TikTok ads cost guide cover: $5 to $12 CPM in 2026

How Much Do TikTok Ads Cost in 2026?

TikTok ads are among the cheapest paid social impressions you can buy. In 2026, auction campaigns typically cost $5 to $12 per 1,000 impressions and $0.30 to $1.50 per click. TikTok’s own minimums are $50 a day per campaign and $20 a day per ad group. The bigger cost is often creative: TikTok burns through videos faster than any other platform, so a realistic budget has to pay for new ones every few weeks.

Here is what TikTok advertising costs in 2026, how the minimums work, and how much we would spend on a first test.

Average TikTok ads cost in 2026

Metric Typical 2026 range
Cost per 1,000 impressions (CPM) $5 to $12
Cost per click (CPC) $0.30 to $1.50
Cost per view (2-second or 6-second view) $0.01 to $0.07

These ranges come from 2026 industry benchmarks across auction campaigns. For context, the same benchmarks put Facebook at around $8 to $14 CPM and Instagram at $8 to $15. TikTok usually reaches people more cheaply, though clicks from TikTok often convert at a lower rate than clicks from search.

The US and UK are the most expensive markets. Southeast Asia and Latin America often have far lower CPMs.

TikTok’s minimum budgets

TikTok sets minimums at two levels. These come from TikTok’s own budget help article:

Budget type Campaign level Ad group level
Daily budget More than $50 More than $20
Lifetime budget More than $50 $20 times the number of days

A 31-day ad group on a lifetime budget therefore needs at least $620. TikTok also advises raising budgets by no more than 40% at a time during the learning phase, no more than 30% after it, and waiting at least two days between changes. Bigger jumps can knock a campaign back into learning and push costs up.

Cost by ad format

Format How it is bought Typical cost
In-feed ads Auction $4 to $8 CPM
Spark Ads Auction $5 to $10 CPM, often a lower cost per click
TopView Reserved $10 to $20 CPM; daily buys reported from $65,000
Brand Takeover Reserved $20 to $50 CPM; $50,000 to $100,000 a day

Most businesses only ever need in-feed ads and Spark Ads. Reserved formats like TopView are for national brand launches with six-figure budgets.

What creative costs

On TikTok, the video is the targeting. A strong hook in the first two seconds does more for your cost per result than any audience setting. Budget for creative alongside media.

Creative source Typical cost per video
UGC creator content $200 to $2,000
Nano creator post (under 10,000 followers) $200 to $500
Micro creator post (10,000 to 100,000 followers) $500 to $2,000
Studio-produced brand video $2,000 to $10,000 or more

If you want to run a creator’s post as a Spark Ad, expect usage rights to add roughly 20% to 30% to their fee.

What drives TikTok ad costs

Creative fatigue. TikTok users scroll fast and see the same ad often. Results usually drop and costs rise once a video has run for a few weeks.

Objective. Reach and video view campaigns are cheapest per impression. Conversion and sales campaigns cost more per impression because TikTok shows them to people more likely to act.

The learning phase. An ad group needs around 50 conversions in seven days to stabilize. Budgets too small to get there keep campaigns in learning, which means less stable and usually higher costs.

Season. Q4, Black Friday and big shopping events can push costs two to three times higher. January and late summer are usually better value.

Targeting. Narrow audiences cost more. TikTok’s algorithm usually performs better with broad targeting and strong creative than with tightly layered interests.

How much to budget for a first test

For most businesses we recommend $100 to $150 a day for at least 3 weeks, plus 4 to 6 new videos. That is $2,100 to $3,150 in media and gives the algorithm enough conversions to learn from.

Daily budget Monthly media Clicks at $0.80 CPC Sales at 1.5% conversion
$50 $1,500 1,875 28
$100 $3,000 3,750 56
$150 $4,500 5,625 84

How to lower your TikTok costs

  1. Make TikTok-native videos. Vertical, sound on, a person on camera and a hook in the first two seconds. Polished TV-style ads usually cost more per result.
  2. Test several videos at once. Run 3 to 5 creatives per ad group and let TikTok shift budget to the winners.
  3. Use Spark Ads. Boosting organic posts keeps likes and comments on the original post, which builds social proof and often lowers costs.
  4. Refresh creative before it tires. Swap in new videos every 2 to 4 weeks, or as soon as click-through rate drops.
  5. Scale slowly. Stay within TikTok’s 30% to 40% budget increase guidance and wait two days between changes.
  6. Get tracking right first. The TikTok Pixel and Events API need to report purchases or leads accurately, or the algorithm optimizes toward the wrong people.

Are TikTok ads worth it?

TikTok works best for consumer brands with visual products, impulse-friendly price points and the ability to produce new videos often. Ecommerce, beauty, fashion, food, apps and local services aimed at under-40s tend to do well.

It is a harder fit for complex B2B sales or high-consideration services, where Google Ads or LinkedIn ads usually reach buyers more directly. Many brands use TikTok to create demand and search ads to capture it.
